Description:

Genesis Legacy Whole Body Donation Foundation is a willed whole-body donor program for those persons wishing to donate their bodies for the advancement of science. Genesis provides transportation of the donor from place of death to the MERI in Memphis, TN; files and provides one certified death certificate, pays for the cost of cremation, provides the family with a letter detailing the research and education their loved one has made possible. Genesis return the cremated remains to the family (authorizing party) if desired or provides internment at a mausoleum in the Memphis area. Donors are encouraged to pre-sign into the program but Genesis also accepts donors at the time of death; the required paperwork can be completed within 24 hours after death has occurred.

Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

Donors can download the forms from the Genesis website as well as submit a request by phone or online to have forms mailed to them. Original signed forms can be mailed or delivered to the office.

Eligibility:

Genesis accepts donors from TN and 17 surrounding states (AL, AR, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MS, MO, OH, OK, NC. SC, TN, TX and WV), with the EXCEPTION OF PERSONS who at the time of death do not meet the acceptance guidelines.
