Description:

Provides faith-based personal and career development classes through a ten-week program that meets Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Class helps chronically unemployed or under employed persons, including justice involved persons, identify career path, improve work readiness and employee skills, and self-promotion skills. Students participate in counseling, computer practice, academic refresher and spirituality. Job search assistance is provided. Students have a chance to earn an internship opportunity. Those who need their high school equivalency diploma can work towards it while enrolled.

Eligibility:

Must be 18 years or over, read at a 6th grade level or better, be mentally and physically able to work in a competitive job market, actively participate in group sessions, meet attendance requirements, complete daily homework assignments and be motivated to complete the course. If taking psychotropic medications, must be compliant and stable on meds. Program targets people with little or no work history and justice involved persons.
