Description:

The Poetry Society of TN is a group of Mid-South poets who offer workshops, special speakers, contests, open mic reading and other chances to share their poems with other poets or poetry lovers. Offers a spring student contest and an annual poetry festival in October. Affiliated with the national Federation of State Poetry Societies, which has members who are poets from at least 6 other states as well as Tennessee. Currently there are three chapters (Memphis, PST-NE and PST-Knoxville); see website for details on events and meetings. Local contacts can be found online.

Program Fees:

No Fee to attend meetings, and persons do not have to be a member to attend; but persons are encouraged to join the society to promote their poetry; the society does not discriminate against anyone. Annual Membership Fees: $25.00/year dues include anthology; Student dues $10.00/year; Dues run from May to May. Members may enter their poetry in monthly contests for cash for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes
