Description:

Provides a non-profit that seeks to increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering girls of color, ages 7-17, to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities and builders of their own futures through exposure to computer science and technology. Black Girls CODE introduces computer coding lessons to young girls from underrepresented communities in programming languages such as Scratch or Ruby on Rails or even Java Script through workshops, usually held once a quarter at college campuses or other computer labs.

Hours:

Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Intake Process:

Call for information on workshops and other events; when parents/guardians register a girl for the workshops they are required to fill out an application and media release form

Program Fees:

Most workshops: $35.00; some events may be free

Eligibility:

Girls ages 7-17 interested in technology, especially girls of color, but all girls are welcome
