Description:

Provides free legal services to low-income individuals for civil cases only. Cannot defend clients with criminal cases that might involve a prison sentence. If Legal Aid Society is unable to accept the case, they might be able to offer one-time legal advice or provide referrals to other agencies.

Examples of cases include:
- Domestic violence
- Bankruptcy
- Employment (e.g wage claims, discrimination)
- Family (divorce, foster care, education issues, etc.)
- Health (e.g living wills, nursing home issues, and access to TennCare, Medicare, Medicaid)
- Housing (e.g Renters' rights, landlord disputes)
- Money (e.g predatory loans, Getting TANF or SNAP, payment for crime victims)
- FEMA denials as a result of the local disasters

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

Call ahead to ensure your case can be taken. Appointment will be made after initial phone conversation. Do not walk in without appointment

Clients will need to bring all documents related to case

Languages:

Spanish; Tele-interpreter available for other languages

Eligibility:

Low-income individuals who need legal help, but are not at risk of being sentenced to prison; serves Davidson and Williamson County
