Description:
Provides a local history museum featuring information and artifacts related to the town of Collierville, TN, as well as free cultural and educational public programs for all ages. Programs include a weekly preschool Story Time, a seasonal Lunch and Learn series, and summer workshops for both youth and adults. The Museum also offers free field trips for 3rd grade students focusing on community and a 5th grade field trip about the Civil War. Schools may apply for grant money to receive free transportation to and from the museum, generously sponsored by the Friends of Morton Museum auxiliary group.

Intake Process:
Call, email or see website for information; Room or Facility rentals require security deposits and must be booked in advance, as well as the school field trips (for groups of ten or more); apply for bus grants for school field trips through the website (sponsored by the The Friends of Morton Museum). Requests to examine museum artifacts or records should be made in advance.
Program Fees:
No Fee for museum entry, school field trips or for most educational programs; there is also no fee to view items in the collection or to view historical records in the collection, but black & white copies of historical records are available for $0.15/page (for copies of 5 pages or more); occasionally the museum offers instructional programs that may charge fees for materials, such as oil painting classes; Meeting Room Rental Fees apply, though non-profits can receive the first two hours of rental free; the whole museum facility may also be rented out for events
Eligibility:
Open to all; schools in Shelby County and the surrounding area may request free field trips and apply for the bus grant to receive free transportation to and from the museum.
