Description:
Provides financial assistance on a yearly basis to residents of Rutherford County. The agency assists with rent, utilities (electric, water and gas bills). Will also assist with past due bills for current residence and prescription assistance.
Hours:
Tue, Wed, Thu 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Closed for Lunch 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm). Appointments preferred but will take walk-ins if available.
Medicine Hours:
9:00 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 3:30 pm
(No appointment necessary for medicine applicants)
Intake Process:
Call for appointment; requiers proof of income for all adults in the home for the last 30 days; state-issued ID for head of household only; Social Security cards for all household members; documentation of crisis; proof of residency (Rutherford County only)
Clients call for appointments, take walk ins if room available. Intake process assesses need, and then the client visits with a caseworker who determines the next steps. All application forms are available on the website. Applicants must provide required documents via mail or email (scan) prior to the next phone interview. Eligibility interviews may take 30 minutes.
Note: If requesting rental assistance, stop by the office and request a rent documentation form that needs to be completed by property manager/landlord or print this off from the website.

The Family Collective Empowerment program provides financial assistance & wrap-around resources services coordinated by a Family Coach for low-income families at risk of homelessness working toward a common goal of independent financial stability.
