Description:

Provides community center and supportive services for the LGBTQ community in the Memphis area. Programs include confidential counseling referrals to professional counselors who accept sliding scale fees and/or insurance; free meeting rooms for LGBTQ groups and organizations; peer-led supportive social groups; opportunities for LGBTQ people to see their lives reflected in film (Outflix); free HIV rapid testing with information, counseling, and connection-to-care services; navigation to HIV prevention medications (PEP and PrEP), supportive services for LGBTQ seniors; services for Transgender adults (including legal and medical transition assistance, peer support, and tailored community resources); the Metamorphosis Project (wrap-around supportive services and housing for homeless LGBTQ young adults 18-24 years old); youth groups for LGBTQ and Allied youth 13-17 or 18-25; Senior Services for LGBTQ and Allied people 55+; resource referrals for a wide variety of LGBTQ related issues.

Open Hours: Mon-Fri 11:00am -3:00pm by phone; office currently closed on
Tuesdays. WEEKLY GROUPS: Virtual-T (transgender adults): Tuesdays, VIRTUAL
MEETING,6:00-8:00p;HIV rapid testing: Mondays 11-3pm and Wednesdays, 3:00-
7:00p; Seeking Serenity Al-Anon Meeting (Virtual), Thursdays, 5:30-6:30p; GenQ
(LGBTQ young adults 18-25 years old), Fridays, 7:00-9:00p (Virtual meeting);
PRYSM (LGBTQ teens 13-17 years old) Saturdays 1-3pm, contact office (RSVP
only); MONTHLY GROUPS: Seniors OUT for Coffee, 3rd Sundays, 12:30-2:30p;
Meristem Women!!‚¬!„¢s Book Club (LGBTQ & Allied adult women), Virtual Meeting,
2nd Wed of each month, 7:00p-9:00p; TransParent (parents of
transgender&gender-exploring children),3rd Sun 2-3p

Intake Process:

Visit website, email or call for information on programs and services and to check for new support groups and updated group meeting times; HIV testing is walk-in only during listed hours

Eligibility:

Community Center is open to LGBTQ and Allied people 13 years old and older
(children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult); Call or go on website for
details on peer-led groups; HIV Testing: Persons 13 and older; the Metamorphosis
Project: LGBT youth ages 18-24 who cannot live at home due to conflicts over
their sexual identity or gender
