CoverRx - Prescription Discounts for TN Residents

Description:

Provides discount card for those without prescription drug coverage in TN (cannot have TennCare, Medicare Part A, B, C or D, or have employer sponsored drug coverage) for ages 18-64; must have been a TN resident for at least the last six months and meet Federal Poverty Level income guidelines, be a US citizen or qualified legal alien. Covered medications are mostly generic; some brand names of insulin and mental health drugs are included. Coverage allows five prescriptions/month with no limit on insulin/diabetic supplies. Card may provide additional discounted prescriptions beyond the five per month and for drugs not on the formulary. Participants must use CoverRx pharmacies. CoverRx is not health insurance and will not cover doctor's visits or hospitalizations. CoverRx has no monthly premiums, just affordable co-pays which vary with income.

CoverRx members may participate in other discount drug programs, such as those offered by retail stores.

Call or download application from website and mail to address on application (Application is also available in Spanish)

Program Fees:

No premiums, but co-pays are sliding scale fee. Co-pays range from $3.00 - $5.00 for a 30 day supply of generic medications or $5.00-$12.00 for brand name insulin and diabetic supplies.

Eligibility:

1) Must be Tennessee resident (for at least the last six months); 2) Be between the ages of 18-64; 3) Be a US citizen or qualified legal alien; 4) Have a household income at or below 100% federal poverty level (see income guidelines on application form); 5) Cannot have pharmacy coverage such as TennCare or employer insurance; 6) Cannot have Medicare (any part including A, B, C or D).
