Description:

Provides the West TN office of the state agency that assists local housing programs for low and very low income people. HUD-funded rental assistance program is offered as Section 8 Housing Choice voucher program for extremely and very low income families. The family selects a unit from the private rental market and pays between 30 and 40% of their monthly adjusted income for rent and utilities. THDA pays the remainder of the rent directly to the participating landlord. Home repair loans and grants may be provided to low income homeowners who are eligible applicants. THDA also provides down-payment and closing cost assistance for eligible first-time homebuyers through 30-year fixed rate mortgages at below market interest rates, homebuyer education courses and foreclosure prevention counseling. This office covers all the counties of West TN.
