Description:
The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program is an employment program for people with disabilities who are interested in going to work. The Ticket Program is part of the Ticket to Work and Work incentives improvement act of 1999. The goal of the Ticket Program is to increase opportunities and choices for Social Security disability beneficiaries to obtain employment, vocational rehabilitation (VR), and other support services from public and private providers, employers and other organizations.
Social Security's Ticket to Work (Ticket) Program supports career development for persons ages 18 to 64 who receive Social Security disability benefits (SSDI/SSI) and who want to work. The program is free and voluntary and helps people with disabilities move toward financial independence through work and connects them with the services and support they need to succeed in the workforce.
