Description:

Provides three types of benefits for TN state employees, public school teachers K-12 and other public school employees, employees in state higher education programs and other selected government employees in Tennessee. Members are required to pay a certain percentage of their income into a plan as part of their employment requirements. The Retire Ready TN Call Center number also provides information about 401K and 457 Saving Programs as well. The Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) is a defined benefit pension plan that covers persons who have elected to participate in the plan: including state employees, higher education employees, K-12 public school teachers, and employees of political subdivisions. This means that the amount of any future retirement benefits is determined by a benefit formula rather than an account balance.
