Program Fees:

No Fee for library card for residents of Memphis, Bartlett and unincorporated Shelby County; $50.00/annual fee for card for non-residents. NOTE: IN AUGUST 2021, ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN SHELBY COUNTY WERE EXEMPTED FROM FEES AND MAY RECEIVE A FREE LIBRARY CARD REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY LIVE IN THE COUNTY. Fines and checkout fees for materials vary. Central, Cordova, East Shelby and Whitehaven Branches accept Visa and Mastercard debit/credit cards as payment for Library fees and fines.

Residents of Bartlett, Memphis and unincorporated Shelby County may get a library card for free; NOTE: IN AUGUST 2021, ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN SHELBY COUNTY WERE EXEMPTED FROM FEES AND MAY RECEIVE A FREE LIBRARY CARD REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY LIVE IN THE COUNTY. Library use is open to the public, but must have a valid library card to use public computers. Free wifi wireless is available for customers with their own laptops in all libraries.
