Description:

CCSI is a THDA-approved homebuyer educator that provides homebuyer education, financial counseling and mentoring, and individual development accounts. Their Homebuyer Education program is for persons purchasing a home for the first time. The agency's basic financial training workshops include classes on understanding your money, budgeting basics, understanding credit, and renting versus home ownership. The CCSI Mentoring Towards Independence (MTI) program is designed to work with families who are ready to invest in themselves and their families. CCSI believes in the value of education and supportive relationships to empower individuals to direct their own paths to personal and financial well-being, and to create legacies of self-sufficiency for their families. MTI includes family mentoring, adult life skills training, financial counseling, individual development accounts, and a year-end celebration. Completion of the Basic Financial Training workshop is a prerequisite for participation in MTI.

Hours:

Office hours vary but are typically Mon - Fri 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Homebuyer classes are held on some Thursdays from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. Financial training workshops are held on select Saturdays at Schrader Lane Church of Christ from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. MTI (Mentoring Program) meets Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm - 8:15 pm from September to May. Visit the website for details.

Program Fees:

Fees vary depending upon service selected. Homebuyer Education Classes: $99 individual or couple. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Financial Literacy Classes: $10/individual or $15/couple per class. Breakfast and lunch are provided; No fee for MTI mentoring program (but clients must have completed the Financial Literacy classes first to qualify for the program)
