Description:

The Cheatham County Public Library will enhance the joy of reading and thirst for information by providing current, high interest materials to its citizens. It will be a door to the learning experience for preschoolers and promote independent learning for all ages. The library offers an active summer reading program, story time, and clubs for older children.

Intake Process:

In order to obtain a library card, you must present a valid photo I.D. with your current address, or a photo I.D. and two (2) pieces of mail with your current address.
*Parents must also provide this information when applying for a library card for your child(ren).

Program Fees:

Unreturned items incur a $0.15 charge per day; unreturned WiFi hotspots incur a $1.00 daily charge. Lost or damaged items incur a replacement fee or must be replaced by the patron.

Eligibility:

Anyone 3 years or older. Only a parent or guardian may obtain a library card for those under 17 years.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers are welcome to join the Friends of the Cheatham County Libraries to support the library through service and dues that enable the purchase of additional materials and programming for children. Dues range from $10 to $40/year. Service opportunities include staffing Friends book sales and special projects.

    Description

    Patrons may request an interlibrary loan if the materials they want are not in stock.

    Eligibility

    As long as you are a resident of Cheatham County, and you have had your library card for at least six (6) months, we can request the item(s) from another library on your behalf. This is done through our Interlibrary Loan or "ILL" Program. The checkout period allowed by this program is two (2) weeks, and items may be renewed once. *ILL materials must be returned in the condition they were borrowed.

        Description

        The Friends of the Cheatham County Public Library welcomes new members. The purpose of the Friends is to promote reading and to support the library through membership dues and service. Friends receive a newsletter twice a year. Their name will be posted on display in the lobby of the library. They will also have all library fines excused up to the amount of their membership dues. Friends help the library acquire books and equipment beyond the library's budget, plus receive the satisfaction of being active members of our growing community.

        Hours

        The Friends meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm in the Community room at the library.

        Eligibility

        Anyone may become a Friend of the Library.

        Fees

        Annual membership dues are as follows: Student - $10.00, Senior (65 plus) - $10.00, Individual - $20.00, Family - $30.00, Business - $40.00, and Benefactor - $150.00.

        Intake Procedure

        Complete a membership application and pay the annual dues. Check with the circulation desk or email the library for details.
