Animal Control is a Certified Animal Control Agency under The State of Tennessee Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners - State Health Department. The agency addresses domestic, wildlife, and livestock calls. The program operates in a variety of areas in order to meet the needs of the community: Shelter Operations; Field Operations; Adoption Services; Volunteer Program; Community Services Program; Shelter/ Rescue Networks; Euthanasia Services; Pet Facilitative Therapy Program; Humane Education Program; Spay/Neuter Program; and Cruelty/Neglect Cases.

Program Fees:

The adoption fee is $50 per animal and includes all required vaccinations; the fee does not include any medical care after adoption and is subject to change.

Eligibility:

Those wishing to adopt an animal must: complete an adoption packet signed and witnessed by staff; have a government-issued photo ID that can be documented; must be over the age of 18, and must pay the adoption fee. Anyone who has harmed an animal or been convicted of a violent crime may not adopt an animal.
