Description:

The Cheatham County Animal Awareness Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to help control pet overpopulation through spay/neuter assistance and animal educational programs for the residents of Cheatham County. The Foundation also assists in finding responsible homes for adoptable animals being held at Cheatham County Animal Control and strives to provide a safe environment for the animals of Cheatham County. The agency can also guide Cheatham County residents in controlling feral cats through the trap, neuter, return program. The agency works with an organization called People for Animals to provide services.

Intake Process:

Call or complete the online application. Breeds under 40 pounds can be done on a monthly basis in the north and south ends of Cheatham County. Larger breeds can be done through partnerships with the Pet Community Center, Rover, St. Bethlehem Clinic and West Meade Animal Clinic.

Program Fees:

Spay and neuter pricing for breeds varies with the animal's size. Call for details.

Eligibility:

Anyone who lives in Cheatham County and has a cat or dog that needs to be spayed or neutered may take advantage of low-cost spay/neuter services.
