EZRA52 is a non-profit that works with male refugees and immigrants (ages 20-24 who have legal status to work in the US) to train them to learn residential construction skills. The agency usually takes on two trainees at a time who work part-time for six months, and who then qualify as pre-apprentice workers for local construction companies. EZRA52 buys the homes to renovate and then they sell the renovated homes; this funds more home purchases and more trainings offered to refugee or immigrant workers. New trainees must speak conversational English and pass drug and background checks and must have reliable transportation to the work sites.
