Description:

Provides day programs for adults with intellectual disabilities; residential supports including companion services, homemaker, and personal care (for people with intellectual disabilities and seniors in need); respite care services (for people with intellectual disabilities and seniors); transportation (for seniors); and employment services (for people with disabilities). Progress also launched SmART! Supplies in 2014, a social enterprise designed to provide employment to people who are disabled while providing the only source for re-purposed art supplies in Middle Tennessee and reducing the amount of items destined for landfills.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers are welcome to assist with office tasks, help with special events, provide refreshments or parties for clients, mend clothing, detail vehicles used to transport clients, or adopt a Progress home (cleaning, gardening, mowing, decorating for holidays, etc.).

                      Description

                      Sitter Services: Professional caregivers provide caring companionship, conversation and immediate attention to needs in the home, rehabilitation center or hospital. Homemaker: Professional caregivers help maintain a comfortable and clean home and provide routine homemaking tasks such as meal preparation, eating assistance, grocery shopping, laundry services and attend to personal errands. Personal Care: Professional caregivers assist clients with any of the following activities: bathing, toileting, dressing, dental care and self-directed physical activities. They will also assist with transfer assistance from bed or wheelchair.

                                                    Description

                                                    Supported Living is a residential program enabling individuals to live alone or with one or two others, and in most cases a staff person to support them. Supported Living allows a person greater personal choice about all aspects of his or her home and community life. Progress provides access to services regardless of a person's level of ability, and works to support them according to their needs and desires.

                                                              Description

                                                              Project SEARCH provides individuals with disabilities tuition-free job training and educational, developmental, and employment opportunities. Project SEARCH is a 9 month unpaid internship, and at the completion of the program, graduates are employment ready. The goal of Project SEARCH is to fill a business need with qualified individuals living with developmental disabilities.
