Description:
Organization that offers a variety of programs, including but not limited to, fitness and wellness, sports and recreation, arts and enrichment, swimming lessons, lifeguard training, camps, and more, including the After Breast Cancer (ABC) program for survivors by survivors that provides education and healing for body, mind and spirit after a breast cancer diagnosis. Participants learn about healthy eating, resume or begin a regular exercise program that is right for them and form a healing community in small group discussions led by a trained facilitator.

Program Fees:
Fees vary by program but the ABC program is free. Financial assistance may be available through the Open Doors program. Call for more information.
Eligibility:
Facility is open to all; swimming/swimming lessons are open to people ages 6 months and above. Parents must be in the water with children between 6 months and 3 years. Dance classes are available to youth ages 5-12; lifeguard training is available for ages 16 and older; the ABC program is open to all breast cancer patients and survivors

Description
Learn the skills you need to become a certified lifeguard from the YMCA. All lifeguards trained by the Y are certified through the American Red Cross, a nationwide leader in water safety and lifeguard instruction. Many participants who complete lifeguard training are eligible to become employed at the Y as lifeguards.
Hours
Hours vary. Sessions are typically offered one weekend, per month. Fri 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Sat - Sun 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Open to all individuals, ages 16 or older

$160 for YMCA members and $180 for non-members

Description

ABC is completely free of charge, and funded by grants, private donations and generous corporate and community sponsors. New groups start every 16 weeks.

Description
The YMCA's youth swim lessons teach your child how to become safe and confident swimmers in a friendly and supportive small-group setting. As their skills and confidence in the water grows young swimmers progress from learning basic water safety to swimming skills including: How to tread and float in the water Proper breathing techniques Key swimming strokes (such as the front crawl and backstroke) needed to pass the YMCA swim test Safety and rescue skills Proper conditioning and personal fitness habits YMCA membership is not required to take lessons.
