Description:

TALS offers several options to assist Tennesseans with civil legal questions: HELP4TN website and helpline, TN Free Legal Answers website, and Law Search Pro website. HELP4TN is a free civil legal information and referral helpline and website for low-income individuals; the line is answered by a call responder who will schedule a return call for you to speak with a licensed attorney or elder law specialist. TN Free Legal Answers is a website where low-income individuals with civil legal questions can ask them and receive an online response from a licensed attorney. The Law Search Pro website is available for Tennesseans of any income to receive legal referrals for civil matters.

TALS also offers legal workshops and an annual conference, Equal Justice University, for attorneys, paralegals, social workers, and advocates.

Eligibility:

HELP4TN is available for low-income Tennesseans. The website is available for all Tennesseans.

TN Free Legal Answers is available to low-income Tennesseans whose household income is below two-hundred fifty percent (250%) of the Federal Poverty Guidelines; are not incarcerated; and have less than five thousand dollars ($5,000) in total assets.

Law Search Pro is available to Tennesseans regardless of income.
