Shelby County CSA - CEAP Comprehensive Emergency Rent & Mortgage Assistance

CJC Rent;2022 CSA Cares Act Mortgage program

Description:

Provides up to $1500.00 for eligible persons/households in Shelby County, who have experienced an unexpected, uncontrollable circumstance such as medical bills, legal expenses, funeral expenses, etc., in the past 180 days, or loss of employment within the past 12 months, may qualify for CEAP assistance.

CSA will resume accepting application requests beginning on the first Monday of each month (excluding holidays). All registrants will have to go online at that time to make an appointment. For rent there are no exceptions to the online portal. There is no cost for the application.

Intake Process:

Customers will need to obtain an intake slot. The intake slot will be assigned to a counselor who will contact the customer and inform them of the next steps. Customers can obtain an intake slot at the website: www.shelbycountycsa.org

CSA Update on 11/15/2023. No rental portal assistance till Dec. 4. All registrants will have to go online at that time to make an appointment. For rent there are no exceptions to the online portal. There is no cost for the application.

Eligibility:

Must be Shelby County residents under threat of eviction or foreclosure, meet income guidelines (be at or under 200% of Federal poverty income levels for the number of persons in your household), have documentation of COVID-19 loss of income since March 11, 2020, demonstrate ability to pay the next month's rent or mortgage, and have at least one adult household member who is a US citizen.
