Nourish Food Bank - Nashville - Glencliff

Description:

Provides free food to low-income families living in Rutherford and surrounding counties. Approved applicants are provided with a week's worth of food every 30 days, plus hygiene items and baby food and diapers when available, and pet food when available. Nourish also operates a delivery program for families who have been displaced and are living in partner hotels and campgrounds, and these clients receive 3-4 days worth of food once a week. Additionally, Nourish runs the Nourishing the Whole Program that provides wraparound supportive services to clients.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets are also provided during the holiday season. Registration for Thanksgiving giveaway begins in middle of October. Registration for Christmas giveaway begins in the middle of November. Thanksgiving Meal Baskets include a turkey and all the fixings and a Christmas Meal Baskets include a ham and all the fixings to clients in need around the holidays. Clients must obtain a ticket from the food bank prior to the giveaway dates; tickets for holiday food giveaways must be picked up in person on a first-come, first-served basis, usually from the middle of November - the middle of December; call for exact dates and how to apply in October. In 2023, persons may walk in beginning Monday, October 16, 2023 for Thanksgiving Meal Basket ticket distribution and Christmas food basket ticket distribution will begin on Friday, November 17, 2023. Persons with tickets will pick up Thanksgiving baskets from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on November 15, 2023 and Christmas basket distribution will be December 18, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Walk in only for food pantry and bring with you: Identification for all members of the household; head of household must have 2 forms of ID, Proof of address, Proof of income for each receiving individual; call one month before the event in October and November for details on how to request a holiday meal basket ticket for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Low income families that reside in Rutherford County or surrounding counties. No location restrictions. Must prove eligibility every time they visit the pantry; USDA eligibility is self-declared.
