      Description

      Individuals may report littering from vehicles on the state's roadways when they witness it. Reports can be made by either calling the hotline at 1-877-8-LITTER(877-854-8837) or submitting a report online at www.tdot.state.tn.us. Information needed for a report includes the date and time, county, road where the incident occurred, license plate number, description of the vehicle, and a description of the event. When reports are received, TDOT will send the registered owner of the TN vehicle a letter informing them of the negative consequences of their littering actions, as well as educational materials. The letter will also include information about how to contain their litter and inform them that litterers can be fined up to $1,500.

        Description

        Provides a resource line for travelers wanting information about road and travel conditions, incidents, and construction activities on state highways. 511 uses an automated voice response system, which means that callers are guided through the menu through a series of requests. Callers can ask for specific roadways or regions, and the system will provide information about any known traffic incidents, closures and other important roadway conditions information.
