If you are a Tennessee resident, and you want to talk to someone about feelings of stress, anxiety, sadness, or depression related to your work, the MHART Emotional Support Line is staffed by specially-trained mental health professionals who can help.

The MHART Emotional Support Line is a free service for Tennessee residents battling coronavirus and other disasters. The Support Line was created by MHART in partnership with the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug & other Addiction Services (TAADAS) and the National Association of Social Workers Tennessee Chapter.
Daily operation of the support line is now being overseen by Family and Children Services (FCS). As a result of a joint partnership with The Tennessee Department of Education, The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, MHART, TAADAS, and FCS, the Emotional Support Line was officially expanded to include educators statewide on December 1st, 2020. Now it's available to all residents of the State of Tennessee.

The Emotional Support Line provides free and confidential support, helping callers experiencing increased anxiety due to the coronavirus emergency.
The Emotional Support Line is staffed by mental health professionals.
Examples of topics we can discuss with you include coping, anxiety, grief, worry, survivors' guilt, and depression.
This service does not provide clinical, medical, or therapeutic service.
Please note that the MHART Emotional Support Line should not substitute for the Tennessee Crisis Line. If you are in immediate danger and have thoughts of self-harm, please contact the Tennessee Crisis Line at 1-855-Crisis-1.

Without limiting the foregoing, in no event shall any of the Indemnified Parties be liable for any special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages of any type arising from your use of the Line, or for any other reason.
The Line is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. None of the Indemnified Parties shall be liable for any inability by you to access the Line, including but not limited to interruptions in the Line due to technical reasons or delays to due to a high volume of calls. The Support Line was designed by the Mental Health Active Response Team (MHART), a collaborative effort between mental health professionals affiliated with the Tennessee Psychological Association, NASW-TN, the Nashville Psychotherapy Institute, and Department of Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It is supported by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. MHART represents its own entity and views are not necessarily reflective of respective affiliations.
