Knoxville-Knox County CAC - Emergency Housing Assistance Due to COVID-19

APARTMENT RENT: Target population for this service are families with children under 18 who have lost employment or income due to COVID-19, and individuals/couples who have been diagnosed and/or quarantined with COVID-19 and unable to work. An "Uncontrollable Circumstances Form" must be completed and verification of eligibility must be documented.
Rental assistance requests for rent due on or after 4/1/20 THAT IS PAST DUE will be considered up to $750.00. If the required amount is higher than $750, case will be submitted to Social Services Director for review. Rental assistance will not be provided to anyone living in Subsidized or Section 8 Housing. Those requests must be referred back to the landlords so that rent can be adjusted according to change in income. Per HUD, applicants living in subsidized housing will not be evicted due to non-payment of rent during this time.
HOTEL ASSISTANCE : No funding for this, please refer to the Knox County Health Department, 865-215-5300.
UTILITY ASSISTANCE: Requests will only be considered if there is a disconnect notice that has been issued and the reason for non-payment is related to one of the COVID-19 Uncontrollable Circumstances.
GROCERY AND GAS CARDS: May be issued if the need is related to one of the COVID-19 Uncontrollable Circumstances.
