The Johnson City Police Department is excited to announce the 9th Annual Shop With a Cop program will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13. A partnership between JCPD and Johnson City Schools, Shop With a Cop pairs law enforcement officers with elementary school children in need.

Each child will be paired with a law enforcement officer for the evening. The night will begin with dinner at Wild Wing Café followed by a tour of Candy Land Christmas in Founders Park. The children will travel by bus to Walmart, where each participant, assisted by their law enforcement partner, will shop for holiday gifts.

Applications can be downloaded from the City website, www.johnsoncitytn.org/shopwithacop. Completed applications will be accepted through Nov. 14. Applications will be accepted by mail, email, fax or hand delivery to the department or a school resource officer.

The Shop With a Cop program selects individual children to participate but serves the child!€™s entire family. All children in the household receive presents to unwrap and winter clothing while the family receives a Christmas food box.

Eligibility:

Must:
Be age 5-12.
Be enrolled in a Johnson City School.
Not have participated with Shop With A Cop for the past 3 years.
Have had NO serious disciplinary actions during current school year.
