Description:

FTAAAD's mission is to assist older Tennesseans and adults with disabilities in Northeast Tennessee with information and services that promote quality of life and independence. FTAAAD's programs and services are all available in Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties and include:

Nutrition:
Congregate meals are offered five days a week at 16 meal sites around the eight-county service area. Contributions are encouraged, but not required. Call your local senior center to find the nearest site. Home-delivered meals are delivered five days a week to individuals who have been assessed and qualified for the service.

CHOICES:
CHOICES is TennCare's program for long-term care services and supports for elderly or physically-disabled individuals that need help with things like bathing, getting around their home, preparing meals, or doing household chores. If program requirements are met, services can be provided in a nursing home or in the community.

Options for Community Living:
Options provides support services to older adults and those with disabilities who do not access services through another program. Options helps individuals with functional limitations to remain at home through services like personal care, home-delivered meals, and homemaker services.

SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program):
The SHIP department provides trained counselors for Medicare, Medicaid, and private health-insurance counseling, plus assistance with prescription drug programs.

Information and Assistance (I&A) Phone Line:
FTAAAD's I&A department provides callers with assistance locating aging and disability-related resources, as well as screening individuals for eligibility on a number of state and federal programs.

Other programs include caregiver support, CREVAA/CREST programs, evidence-based wellness, legal services, ombudsman, public guardianship, SNAP outreach, and volunteer senior transportation.
