Description
Morning Star Sanctuary became a program of AGAPE in 2018. This program provides a 24-bed emergency shelter for women and children experiencing domestic violence. Residents are provided food, clothing, basic need items, transportation, information and referrals to community resources. While in shelter, domestic violence victims are offered advocacy, counseling, and case management services. Night court advocates assist individuals with filing Orders of Protection and provide referrals to attorneys, victim assistance programs, and other community services. Eligibility
The only eligibility requirement is the occurrence of intimate partner violence or threat of violence within the last 90 days. Previous program participants are eligible for reentry if 90 days have passed since the individual last exited the shelter. This rule may vary depending on the terms of the exit. Children may accompany individuals seeking shelter, unless the child is a male eighteen years of age or older.

Intake Procedure
Individuals seeking services must call Morning Star's hotline, even referrals from other agencies, including the Family Safety Center and the police. During the hotline call, individuals are screened for eligibility.
