Description

Project Return offers a job readiness program that leads to NCCER certification and safety training in construction or skills development in hospitality and culinary arts. Project Return also operates a temporary staffing program that employs its clients in high-need industries.

Eligibility

Eligible to any adult who has: 1) Been convicted of a felony in the past year 2) Been released from a felony conviction within the past year 3) Served at least 3 consecutive months on a serious misdemeanor within the past year

Description

Project Return's mission is to provide services and connect people with resources needed to return successfully to work and community after incarceration. Participants can receive the full array of services after completing the Job Readiness Program, which is a 4-day curriculum consisting of 5 classes and an extensive coaching session filled with a resume appointment, mock interviews, and how to discuss a criminal background during an interview. While completing classes, they receive hot meals and bus passes. Once classes are complete, they are eligible for extensive job coaching, job referrals, and an opportunity to join our transitional jobs program, as well as boots, tools, and clothing needed for the job. The agency can also help formerly incarcerated people negotiate child support repayment, obtain necessary identification (birth certificates, state IDs, and driver licenses), secure medical, dental, and vision care, and locate housing and child care. Description

Project Return welcomes volunteers who want to make a difference in their clients' lives. Volunteers can help by mock interviewing participants, sorting prison mail, doing office work, or sorting food. Undergraduate and graduate internship opportunities are available.
