Description:

MPLOY PLUS is a locally, funded initiative administered by the Memphis Office of Youth Services (MOYS). It is an extension of the MPLOY Youth Summer Experience program that operates after the summer program concludes. MPLOY Plus provides city of Memphis youth ages 16 to 22 with meaningful and rewarding experiences for seven weeks, in the fall. MPLOY Plus offers a variety of career path options according to the participants' strengths and interests.

MPLOY Youth Summer Experience business partners, who are able and interested in hosting interns for the fall, provide a meaningful experience for interns after the summer program ends. These entities offer structured job opportunities for youth, during the fall, while the cost of the participants' stipends is covered by the City of Memphis.

Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

No income requirements. To be considered for MPLOY Plus applicants must apply and participate in the MPLOY Youth Summer Experience Program during the summer of the same year. Applicants can apply for the MPLOY Youth Summer Experience program online, via the Memphis Office of Youth Services website (www.cityofmemphisyouth.org) December 1-31. Applicants may apply online and using computers (when available) at any MPLIC location but must have either a valid library card or computer only access card. Applicants are also welcome to apply using computers at the City of Memphis Employment Offices at 125 N Main, 1B-33 or at the Benjamin L. Hooks Library, 3030 Poplar Avenue, 1st Floor.

Eligibility:

Youth must apply and participate in the MPLOY Youth Summer Experience program during the summer of the same year. NOTE: PARTICIPANTS IN THIS PROGRAM ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE CITY OF MEMPHIS MAP PROGRAM.
