Elimu helps refugees, asylees, immigrants and parolees to achieve an economically stable, community driven life in the US using the tools of education, leadership, social integration and employment to help with assimilation into American culture. Agency provides the Elimu Career Counseling and Employment Services (ECCES) for immigrant adults in Nashville, which offers ESL classes, interview training, mentorships and fellowships to match skilled immigrants with local job opportunities. Additionally, the Elimu Learning Center (ELC) offers educational courses for immigrant children and youth, grades 8-12 in Greensboro, NC; also sponsors the Women of Africa Leadership Coalition (WALC), which unites African women in the diaspora by empowering them through connections, leadership, social skills, workshops and summits held in both Nashville and Greensboro.
