Description:

Provides a DUI school licensed by the state of Tennessee to offer mandated by state law requirements for first time offenders needing alcohol or drug education and counseling, a community corrections program which is an alternative to incarceration, and Misdemeanor Management classes for persons convicted of misdemeanors in the 13 county service area. The Misdemeanor Management Services program offers rehabilitation classes and connects offenders with other resources they might need (e.g. drug and alcohol rehabilitation, educational training, and counseling services). The program works closely with General Sessions and Circuit Court Judges, District Attorneys, Public Defenders, Law Enforcement Officers, and Defense Attorneys. Individuals are placed on supervised probation for generally a period of 11 months and 29 days. During this time, the probation supervisor closely monitors the clients to ensure compliance with the probation order.

Eligibility:

Persons with DUI offenses ordered by the state to complete training or persons in the 13 county service area convicted of a misdemeanor and felony offenders in Tennessee's 16th, 18th, 21st, and 23rd judicial districts for the community corrections program as an alternative to jail time. Covers persons in Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson and Wilson counties.
