Description:

Serves low income families with rent, mortgage, utilities, food vouchers, Head Start program and USDA commodity foods in the Humphreys County Office. The LIHEAP utility assistance program pays all or a portion of the utility bills of eligible residents whose utilities have been or are at risk of being shut off. The fiscal year begins in October and clients can receive assistance once per year. Assistance helps cover electricity, gas, and wood.

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Intake Process:

Call or see website or walk in for help. For most financial assistance, you will need to bring proof of household income including any additional sources such as SSI and spouse income, as well as the date of birth and Social Security Cards for all household members. For heating or cooling assistance, you will need to bring the latest copy of your electric bill. For commodities distribution, you or your designated representative will need to bring the commodities card issued by this office.
