BridgesEAST, based in Johnson City, provides services for the D/deaf, Deaf-Blind, and hard of hearing in Northeastern Tennessee and parts of Virginia and North Carolina offering a continuing of services from birth through senior year, including Adult Education & Outreach Advocacy, Empowerment, Interpreting, and Youth Education and Services.

Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing!€™s mission is to build access, equity, and inclusion in partnership with the D/deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing communities through advocacy, education, empowerment, and effective communication. A continuum of programs and services from birth through elder years are available. These programs and services include Advocacy (systems change work, DEI work), Adult Education & Outreach (ASL classes, trainings for first responders, law enforcement, employers; outreach presentations; social events; and more), Empowerment (social work/case management), Interpreting Services (available in person, virtually, and on demand), and Youth Education & Services (birth through high school programs). Bridges also provides high-quality ADA and HIPAA compliant ASL interpreting services in a variety of settings.
