LAET is a nonprofit law firm who represents financially eligible persons in civil legal matters.

We represent victims of domestic violence, file Chapter 7 bankruptcies, help with TennCare and Medicare issues, Consumer issues, Benefits, Conservatorships, Qualified Income Trusts, and Landlord/Tenant/ Elderly issues and other miscellaneous legal issues.



WHAT WE DO:

LAET provides high-quality civil legal services free of charge for qualifying individuals, including areas such as consumer finances, housing, family, public benefits, and a range of other miscellaneous matters. We are advocates for the elderly, families, and victims of domestic violence and work closely with our clients to help them navigate legal challenges and seek out justice.

WHO WE CAN HELP:

From obtaining orders of protection for victims of domestic violence to preventing homelessness for families, LAET's efforts have ensured that thousands of individuals in our community are given the chance to improve their lives. Who do we help? We represent low-income individuals, families, victims of domestic violence, among others. We assist seniors without regard to income.

In order to qualify for services, clients must be United States citizens or reside in this country legally. Because our funding is not enough to assist every individual in need of legal help, we sometimes must select cases based on the level of need.
