Description:

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides in-person and virtual tax assistance free of charge. Although its focus is on older taxpayers and those with low to moderate income, volunteers will prepare returns for any age or income, as long as the return is within the scope of their training.

Appointment Required: Make an appointment at www.VolsInTax.com, or call 865-229-4429. Online appointments are encouraged.

Monday (usually open 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, with some exceptions; call for exact schedule and for appointment)

Intake Process:

Go to www.VolsInTax.com or call 865-229-4429 for appointment. Taxpayers must have photo ID and Social Security cards for everyone on the return. Bring all W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documents, as well as any letters from the IRS. Complete the intake form. If filing jointly, both spouses must be present to sign to transmit the return electronically.
