Description:

Recovery Court of Sumner County was founded as an alternative to incarceration for non-violent offenders who are struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues. The non-profit Recovery Court works closely with the county courts to allow offenders to complete an intensive recovery program. The court offers a two year Intensive Outpatient program (IOP) which includes transitional housing for those in the program and a 16-week family support group for the participant and their families. The court also offers a re-entry program for adults being released from Sumner County jail, which includes counseling, housing placement and rent assistance, job interview training and job placement, and assistance with obtaining vital documents such as birth certificates or drivers licenses.

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Intake Process:

Offenders are referred by their attorneys to the program with a recommendation from appropriate judge and district attorney.

Program Fees:

No Fee initially; if the participant is living in the transitional housing, they will be charged rent one month after they become employed

Eligibility:

Non-violent offenders with drug or alcohol issues in Sumner County; re-entry program is for adults being released from Sumner County jail and also requires a referral from their attorneys to the program
