Girl Scouts Heart of the South

Description:

Regional Girl Scout council covers 59 counties in eastern Arkansas, north Mississippi and west Tennessee. Girl Scouts Heart of the South provides leadership development through hands-on skill building activities that help K-12 girls explore new interests, cultivate positive values and gain critical life skills. Through troop, individual and community event and virtual event programs, girls participate in a wide variety of STEM, Outdoor Adventure, Entrepreneurship and Life Skills programs. The council has three camp properties, two of which are residential, for girls ages 5-17. Troop age levels: Daisies (kindergarten - first grade), Brownies (2nd-3rd grades), Juniors (4th-5th grades), Cadettes (6th-8th grades), Seniors (9th-10th grades) and Ambassadors (11th-12th grades).

Covers Crittenden County, AR; TN counties include Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton and Weakley; MS counties include Alcorn, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Holmes, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Leflore, Lowndes, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Sunflower, Tate, Tallahatchie, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Washington, Webster, Winston and Yalobusha.

Girls in grades K-12 in the service area; one of the camp sessions is reserved for both boys and girls with special needs
