Description:

Agency that issues, maintains on file and, where appropriate, provides access to the official document that transfers ownership of land from one individual to another or which otherwise provides evidence of the individual's entitlement to the property for DeKalb County, TN. Files certain legal documents mainly pertaining to or affecting real estate in DeKalb County and provides public access to these records. The register determines whether each instrument offered for registration is entitled to registration under state laws. The most common records filed by the register include affidavits, liens, mortgages, powers of attorney, tax liens and property titles.
