Description:

Provides, RIP (Regional Intervention Program), an early intervention program serving children with behavioral problems under the age of six (6) years; many with varying developmental abilities. RIP tackles problem behaviors such as aggression, bedtime/sleeping issues, destruction of property, high activity level, non-compliance, mealtime problems, running from adults, separation anxiety, tantrums, and trouble at school. Parents serve as primary therapists for their own children at RIP, with valuable peer support from other families facing similar challenges. Veteran RIP parents and staff assist newly enrolled parents in learning, practicing, and implementing positive behavior management skills, strategies, and techniques to address their children's behavior issues. This site is the state headquarters and main training center for all RIP staff.

Mon & Wed 9:00 am - 11:00 am; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm; and 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Program Fees:

No Fee, but adult family members are expected to commit time to teaching new parents in the program after their own children complete the program.

Eligibility:

Families with preschool age children (under 6 years old) with behavior or development difficulties especially preschool age in Nashville and surrounding areas; program has sites across the state; see website or call for your nearest location site

Parent or legal guardian must be TN resident, with child younger than 6 years old with concerns about the child's behavioral problems and/or developmental problems, including those with special needs. Parent or legal guardian must agree to participate fully in each scheduled visit.
