Description:

The Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization responsible for operations of Shelby Farms Park (excluding Agricenter International and Area 10 which is set aside for use by county government) and the Shelby Farms Greenline, and for implementation of the Shelby Farms Park Master Plan. Both the park and the Greenline are open from sunrise to sunset. The Shelby Farms Greenline is a 10.8 mile walking, jogging and biking trail built upon a former CSX railroad line. Trail users must stop at intersections and bicycles must yield to road traffic. Dogs must be on leash and owners must remove pet waste. Bicycles always yield to pedestrians and all trail users should keep to the right on the trail and give ample warning if passing others. Access points or street crossings are on Tillman, eastward to Highland, High Point Terrace, Graham, Waring, Podesta, Sycamore View, Mullins Station, Whitten, Appling, Raleigh-LaGrange, Germantown Parkway, Cully Road and Farm Road before entering Shelby Farms Park (currently ends at the Macon Road Old Cordova Rail Depot). Park also has a place to rent horses for riding, an off the leash dog park (The Outback), Laser Tag, Paint Ball, Disc Golf, paddle boat and canoe rentals, bike rentals and a herd of buffalo. Park also features the Woodland Discovery Playground, innovative playground with special ADA play elements and with features and activities for children of every age and ability level. The central design feature is a steel arbor planted with woven willow trees that winds through the site with six themed play nests in the curves of the arbor. Splash play area water park is open from April/May to the end of September.

Office Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Park, Dog Park and Greenline open from sunrise to sunset; Woodland Discovery Playground 9:00 am - one hour before sunset; Horseback riding rentals available Wednesday to Sunday year-round

Intake Process:

Call, visit website or email for more information; Woodland Discovery ADA approved playground: No Fee for individuals; groups of 10 or more are required to make a reservation and to pay a fee ranging from $25.00-$75.00, dependent on the size of the group.
