Description:
Gathers information on local crimes and provides rewards for information leading to felony arrests and convictions in Shelby County and provides confidential crisis line for seniors to report abuse or threats. Also accepts tips about possible drug sales in vacant houses, which is passed on to Shelby County District Attorney's office for investigation. Provides Copperstoppers program, which will provide enhanced awards of up to $1,000 for anonymous tips that lead to the arrest of thieves as well as those who knowingly trade in stolen metal or rip out plumbing or heating systems to get the copper to sell. Rewards range from $100-$1,000 depending on the severity of the crime; may be even higher reward in certain situations.

Program Fees:
If tip leads to arrest for a felony, callers may be eligible for cash reward; cash rewards range from $150.00-$1,000.00 depending on the case and whether or not the crime is still in progress
