Description:

Provides gift shop at Regional One Health Hospital whose proceeds help fund Regional One Health Foundation; maintains clothes closet, comfort care items and magazines and books for patients and families at Regional One health. Also provides the Last Resort Fund, which assists patients who need financial assistance upon release from the hospital for transportation home, utility bills and out of pocket medical expenses, food expenses and medical equipment, which is administered through the social workers at the hospital.

Must be Ages 18 and older, be a high school graduate and pass background check to volunteer; also requires 2 references from non-relatives, interview, health screening and must undergo Volunteer Orientation given by Regional One Health and the Johnson Auxiliary; DOES NOT ACCEPT PERSONS WHO NEED COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE.
