Description:

The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee provides captive elephants with individualized care, the companionship of a herd and the opportunity to live out their lives in safe haven dedicated to their well-being; organization educates the public about the complex needs of elephants in captivity and the crisis facing elephants in the wild. Although the elephants' habitats are closed to the public, the Sanctuary welcomes visitors to the Elephant Discovery Center and Outdoor Classroom to experience hands-on, self-guided exhibits that explain the ecological role elephants play in the wild and what life is like for the elephants living at the Sanctuary.
