Description:

Provides services to the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind Individuals, including advocacy and information and assistance about community services and agencies that assist persons who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deaf-Blind. Advocacy, referral and various social services are available to persons who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deaf-Blind, while interpreter services, interpreter training workshops and sign language classes are offered to the hearing population. Agency also sponsors a 3-day summer signing camp for children and youth ages 5-15. These services are provided by a staff of eight and approximately 20 contract interpreters.

Hours:

Mon & Fri 8:00 am - Noon and Tue - Thu 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; 24/7 emergency interpreter; 12-Week Sign language courses are offered in the spring and the fall

Intake Process:

Schedule appointments on website. A request for an interpreter should be made at least one week in advance; and ASL classes require pre-registration.

Program Fees:

No Fee for information and referral and advocacy services; sign language interpreter service is free for clients who are deaf and $65.00/hour for the requesting agency (may be free if the requesting agency is non-profit); Sign Language Courses: Call for fees for book and class
