Description:

SRVS (pronounced "serves") is Tennessee's largest provider of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering a wide range of programs for over 2400 people including residential services, community-based employment and children's services. Founded in 1962, SRVS is a United Way of the Mid-South partner agency.

Programs offered:

SRVS Community Employment Services: This program has trained employment specialists and job coaches who evaluate work strengths, aptitudes and interests, and place individuals in community jobs that best fit their needs.

SRVS Community Based Services: A city-wide day service designed to provide meaningful, person-centered activities for people supported by SRVS at settings in the community.

SRVS Community Living: SRVS has more than 60 residential sites in the community for adults with disabilities. The community participation component gives individuals the opportunity to participate in their communities by focusing on outings, volunteer work and job exploration.

SRVS Family Support: This program provides assistance for children and adults in the form of respite care, before and after school care, specialized equipment and supplies, education, and home and vehicle modifications.

SRVS Kids & Families: Addresses the unique abilities and challenges of young children with a variety of disabilities. The program provides a family- centered approach to early intervention and therapy services, from birth through 12 years of age. Programs are designed to meet the individual needs of the children including an inclusive preschool located at 4738 Walnut Grove Road in Memphis.
