Description:

The Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC), was jointly formed by Memphis City and Shelby County governments to capitalize on Downtown's role as the economic, cultural and governmental core of our city and county. The DMC is funded by an assessment on commercial property in the Central Business Improvement District (CBID), which is used for reinvestment into programs that support the growth of both Downtown's population and appraised commercial property values and strives to make Downtown active, walkable, clean, safe, inclusive and interesting. The DMC also manages the Blue Suede Brigade, an in-person uniformed safety and hospitality team who patrol the entire CBID
