Description:

Provides legal advice, representation, and referrals for non-contested divorces, adoptions, consumer issues, powers of attorney, wills, living wills, conservatorships, guardianships, real estate-related matters, commercial/contract disputes, probate matters, and family law matters for persons in the Memphis area with lower income. Provides legal assistance for eligible immigrants in Arkansas, north Mississippi, and Tennessee. Spanish speaking staff available.

DOES NOT assist in criminal cases, child custody disputes, bankruptcies, personal injury, medical malpractice, workers compensation injuries, insurance, civil rights or employment discrimination.

Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Program Fees:

General Civil Consultation Fee: $50.00; Immigration Consultation Fee: $0 - $100.00; If an individual does not qualify for free legal services, a low sliding scale fee will be assessed depending on the individual's income and family size.

Eligibility:

Income must be between 125% and approximately 300% of the federal poverty level. Leave message on answering machine. An assistant returns calls to determine eligibility, establish nature of the problem, explain procedure and schedule appointments
