Description:

Provides material and financial assistance for low-income and disabled people in Obion County. Assistance includes help with burials, dental care, Christmas programs (trees, food, presents), free clothes and household goods (including furniture) from the thrift store for victims of a fire or other disaster who have a 100% loss, and help with rent, utilities, medicine, medical procedures and school supplies. Offers free food, 25 pounds per family of four, including baby food and diapers if needed. Free medical equipment for the disabled includes wheelchairs, portable toilets, hospital beds, walkers, and adult diapers when available. Free heating and cooling equipment for the home includes fans, electric blankets, and space heaters when available. Accepts donations of food, clothing, appliances, furniture and other goods for the thrift store.

Office Hours: Mon & Wed 8:30 am - 1:30 pm; Tue Thu & Fri 8:30 am - 5:30 pm; Sat Noon - 5:00 pm; closed most Federal holidays

Intake Process:

Call for appointment (731-885-3924); must apply Mondays only 9:00 am - Noon; may call and leave a message. Requires referral from government agency, church or non-profit in the county; financial assistance also requires screening by the Benevolence Board of the Ministry.
